Medicare projects
Healthcare is essential in saving lives but it’s not easily accessible to all Ugandans. Rural areas in Uganda have access to only one doctor for every 22,000 Ugandans. It’s estimated that 70% of doctors practice in urban areas where only 20% of the population lives. Access to quality healthcare in rural areas is nearly impossible. Health facilities in rural areas lack adequate medical equipment, some have collapsing structures with leaking roofs. AMYU prioritizes individual health and aims to improve health for all through projects like Cataract surgery, Free Medical camps, Renovation of health centers, and the purchase of medical equipment for health facilities.
Medical Camp 2023
Cataract surgery involves free screening, free operation, feeding and accommodation for the patients. AMYU intends to carry out 4 free cataract surgeries on a weekly basis with support from its donors.
